We've compiled a list of the questions we get the most. If you can't find the answer to your question, why not drop us an email?

We want to make sure you have the best experience possible when you come to live with us. That’s why, when you book, we ask you about your interests and your personal preferences regarding your living arrangements. We will do everything we can to accommodate these preferences.

We offer studios. You will have your own bedroom, kitchen and ensuite bathroom.

There are three studio types of varying size. If you’re still not sure which option would be best for you, drop us a line and we will be more than happy to help.

For health and safety reasons we don’t recommend you bring electrical equipment for the kitchen. We can help you find what you need when you arrive in the UK, or we can order it in advance ahead of your arrival.

Bedding isn’t provided unless it specifically says so on your booking. If you’d rather not carry bedding over with you, you can order it to your new address for when you arrive.

Each of our properties are unique, but generally speaking you will get a bed, a study area with a desk and a chair, bookshelves, a wardrobe and lots of storage.

Of course, you can! We are always happy to accommodate this when we can. Give us a call to check availability, then all you need to do is book your studios as usual and drop us a line with your names so we can link your bookings together.

The easiest way to book a room is by following the simple step by step procedure online. If at any point in the booking process you get stuck just email us and we will help you.

To book, you’ll need a credit or debit card for your booking fee and deposit fee. Please remember to ask permission if you’re paying with a card that doesn’t belong to you.

You can pay by debit card, credit card or bank transfer.

If you want to pay by instalment you must provide a UK based guarantor.

If you are an international student wanting to pay by instalment you will need to use our recommended guarantor partner Housing Hand.

There may be a booking fee required to secure your room.

This fee is paid at the time of booking your room. You can pay by debit or credit card or bank transfer.

10 days prior to move in we will send you a welcome pack and an invitation for paying your first rental instalment.

At this point you will choose how you want to pay your rent. You can either pay us the full amount upfront or decide to pay us in instalments. If you choose to pay by instalments, you will need to provide a UK based guarantor or use our guarantor partner, Housing Hand.

If your room is available before your contract starts this is quite possible. Drop us a line and let us know when you would be arriving, so we can check this for you.

Firstly, we recommend you check what is included in your studio. Most of the essentials (like toaster, kettle) are already included - so you don't need to bring these - but please check your specific property.

Once you’ve booked, we will help you choose a moving in slot. You can select this easily online too, check your emails closer to your move in date for the link.

You cannot smoke in your room or anywhere within the accommodation. There are designated smoking areas outside which are clearly signposted.

Your contract ends in September 2021 and you are absolutely entitled to continue living in your room over the summer.

We understand how important it is to know that you are safe and secure at home. That is why Sodexo Security Services exists: to provide a safe, secure and supportive environment for all our residents and to help them settle in and transition smoothly to independent living.

Key to this service are our team members called Facilities Support Officers. Whilst they are all SIA licensed and trained to provide the range of traditional security services like patrolling, access control, CCTV monitoring and First Aid, their training and role extends far beyond this. We encourage all our Facilities Officers to continue their professional development by participating in our security development programme, endorsed by The International Professional Security Association but every day they provide a first point of contact for students, not only for incident reporting but to offer help and support with a whole range of sometimes complex and personal problems. Experts in conflict management, they can help with good order and noise issues and even mediate in problems between flat members, sensitively making sure that one person’s welfare is not affected by the “enjoyment” of another.

As a regular presence in the residence, they are trained to recognise the signs which may indicate a student is lonely or depressed or struggling with issues of health or wellbeing. Sometimes, being a good listener and a friendly face is enough, sign posting resources that might help whilst, at the same time, knowing when to pass the problem across to the appropriate supportive team or authority such as pastoral care or the police. Our officers act as “student ambassadors”, always presenting a feeling of safety and a caring attitude.

Our cleaning team will clean the communal corridors, stairwells and lift lobbies, but you must clean your studio yourself. A vacuum cleaner is available at reception for you to borrow when needed.

We recommend that if you are awaiting a visa or exam results to attend University you do not book until you have received these.

If after you have booked and confirmed your place you decide to withdraw you will need to find a replacement for your room.

All of our floors are mixed, but as you have your own secure studio with bathroom and kitchen you will not be sharing any of these facilities.

Risk Free Booking

Bookings may be cancelled in writing or by sending an email directly to the accommodation team within 7 days of accepting the tenancy agreement. If you decide to cancel your booking after the 7-day cooling off period, you will also be eligible for a full refund if your circumstances change due to any of the following:

  • Failure to achieve required grades
  • Failure to obtain VISA
  • Unable to travel due to illness or travel restrictions*
*Demonstrable illness and/or travel restrictions as a direct result of COVID-19
