8 meal ideas with only 10 ingredients!

Deciding what to cook for yourself every night can be difficult, especially when you haven’t cooked properly before. Plus most students find themselves working on a budget, meaning you need to get the most out of everything ingredient you buy. If you’re not so experienced in the kitchen, some recipes can be complicated and overwhelming too. 

We have put together a list of 10 main ingredients, which you can use to make 8 meals! Each of which uses no more than 5 main ingredients, plus some store cupboard essentials. We have added a recipe below each meal idea, however these may be a little complicated, so use the recipes as a guide. 


Chicken/ Potatoes/ Pittas/ Peppers/ Peas/ Onions/ Cheese/ Spaghetti/ Tinned tomatoes/ Eggs


Store cupboard essentials you’ll need: Oil, salt, pepper, tomato puree, gravy granules, milk, mixed herbs, butter, paprika, garlic


Pitta pizzas

Ingredients- Pittas, cooked chicken, onion , peppers, cheese


Mexican chicken pittas 

Ingredients- Chicken, onions, peppers, cheese



Ingredients- Eggs, potatoes, peas, peppers, onions


Cheesy chicken pasta 

Ingredients- Chicken, spaghetti, cheese, peppers


Mediteranian spaghetti 

Ingredients- Peppers, onions, spaghetti, chicken


Chicken breast, mash, peas and onion gravy 

Ingredients- chicken, potatoes, peas, onions



Ingredients- tomatoes, peppers, onions, eggs


Herby pea spaghetti 

Ingredients- spaghetti, peas, onions
