Top 3 Things to do this Bonfire Weekend!

Ready for a more chilled weekend, after a crazy Halloween bash? Why not spend the weekend watching some of Newcastle’s best firework displays.

Firework season is here again, and Newcastle is back with a bang! Here are the top 3 firework displays this year-

 

  1. Newcastle Racecourse

Love the races and the fireworks? This gets you 2 for 1 with an afternoon of watching the races, and a 15 minute fantastic firework display.

The tickets are on sale now for Friday 4th November. Gates open at 2.30pm, the races start at 3.05pm util 6.15pm. After the last race, you have enough time to get a bev or a hot choccy, ready to watch the fireworks at 7.30.

Tickets start from £15, so perfect for the student budget!

 

    2. Saltwell Park Fireworks

Saturday 5th November will see the return of Newcastle’s most popular display! With about 20,000 visitors each year, you don’t want to miss out.

The display includes a 30 minute firework extravaganza, a laser show, fire eating show, a DJ set and a fun fair. The event is fully ticketed, gates open 5pm with the fireworks starting at 7.30pm, food and drink is available till 9pm. Tickets are just £7, bargain.

 

    3. Fireworks display at Blue Flames

For a more chilled display, the Blue Flame annual fireworks Display is a great option. The event is at Whitley Park in Benton and is full of food and drink vendors to keep you busy all night.

Gates open at 4.40pm and the fireworks are due to start about 7pm. You must have a ticket to enter, adult tickets are just £7.50. 

 

Or if you wanted to watch the fireworks and still go out, none of these displays finish later than 9. You’ll still have time to get your glam on and head for some pres before hitting the toon. After all, who can say no to a weekend in market shaker!
