Movember – What is it and How Can You Get Involved?

Movember isn’t just about seeing how long you can get your moustache to grow – there’s actually a meaningful reasoning behind it.

Mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer are all leading to the rise of the number of males dying too young. Movember are an organisation who hope to reduce the number of premature deaths in males by 25% by 2030. They aim to do this by spreading awareness through educating people and uniting experts from across the world.

 

How can you get involved?

 

The most obvious one – grow a moustache!

You can make a change by running this fundraiser from pretty much anywhere, with the help of your friends and following on social media! So far, Movember have raised enough funds to support over 1,250 ground-breaking health projects associated with mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Run or walk 60km over the month

Fancy a real challenge? Join thousands of people across the UK and the world by running (or walking) a total of 60km across the whole month. That equates to running or walking approximately 2km each day of November without any rest days! Promote your challenge on social media or in person to raise funds to help support Movember’s health projects. Cycle 150 #milesformo

You can complete this fundraiser at your own pace and cycle your way (150 miles to be exact) into raising money. What makes this fundraiser even better is that upon completion, you’ll be entered into a prize draw and for every participant that completes the challenge, ProBikeKit will be donating an extra £1! Host a Mo-ment

Whether that be a virtual event, or in-person – holding a ‘Mo-ment’ helps bring you together with people and has a positive mental impact.
