Myth of the 'White Working Class'

Research led by the University of Leeds academics and UK’s leading race equality think tank has highlighted racial and ethnic diversity in northern towns and cities.

The briefing highlights that political and media narratives often describe the ‘White working-class’ and ignore other significant ethnic minority working-class groups in the northern cities in the UK, and that the narrative should be of a multi-ethnic working-class and tackling the inequalities that all working-class people face.
